Roman Cavalry Clipeus

If you were an infantry soldier in ancient Rome, you most likely would have carried the Roman Cavalry Clipeus. Not only did this defensive piece offer excellent protection, it was also easier to use than a rectangular shield on horseback. Modeled after its original design, this piece features wood construction with a brass boss and brass edging. It is enhanced by a painted linen covered front.
