Used from the 12th through the 18th century, the buckler achieved a deserved reputation as both a defensive and offensive arm. These small forearm shields are indispensable in both classical fencing and modern re-enactment sparring. Forged from 14 gauge steel, all of our GDFB bucklers have rolled edges and come in three sizes to meet individual needs. This version features radial reinforcing plates with a steel tube grip securely riveted to the body. An essential part of the modern swordsman's equipment, no one with a costume from a Viking raider to a noble Spanish rogue should be without a sturdy buckler on his arm.
