Made by Windlass Steelcrafts, this Chainmail Armor Shirt has been carefully replicated from examples in private collections and museums. In the Dark Ages, the term "ring maille" was used to distinguish this type of armor from plated mail however, in the Middle Ages, it was simply called mayle or maille, a French term which was originally derived from Latin "macula", meaning "mesh in a net."
Made from 16-gauge links that combine with the international pattern, makes it authentic to European mail. You will notice in this pattern that four links go through a fifth link. The inner link diameter is approximately 3/8 inches while the outer link measures 7/16 inches. This Chainmail Armor Shirt measures 33 inches long with 18-inch long sleeves that end below the elbow on most people. It fits up to a 54-inch chest and is ideal for your next costume event. We strongly encourage you to oil this shirt when not in use.
