It was around 300 B.C., when the Celts were credited for their invention of chainmail. A simple concept that provided protection has continued to inspire scale armor for many years. Mail is still used today as stab-resistant body armor, shark-resistant wetsuits, cut-resistant gloves for woodworkers and butchers and many other applications.
When it comes to appearance, this Chainmail Half Sleeve-Steel is about as authentic as you are going to get; it is the perfect piece for role-playing or a costume. This steel butted shirt is 31 inches long and fits up to a 44-inch chest, over a gambeson.
