The legendary gryphon is a creature with the wings and head of an eagle and the body of a lion. It is believed to be one of the most majestic and powerful creatures of all time. Some even believe it was the king of all other creatures.

Our Gryphons Shield is sure to turn heads at your next tournament or re-enactment. Since this battle-ready shield has been made from 16-gauge thick steel, it will stand up against quite a pounding from your opponent.

Two 1.5-inch thick genuine leather straps have been attached so it is ready for you to use immediately without any preparation. The exquisite detail of the gryphon has been hand-painted, so a polyurethane coating is used to ensure a durable finish.

Please allow 7 to 10 days for the Gryphons Shield to ship as it is hand-painted by one of our talented artists. The shield complies with SCA regulations however, it is your responsibility to be familiar with rules and regulations, which vary from one tournament to another. Please understand that the Tournament Marshall dictates all standards. To protect yourself, never use a shield during combat activity unless SCA officials approve it prior to an event.
