Late Norman Helm
Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®, with the consultation of Ridley Scott, this Late Norman Helm is a fantastic replica of one that would have been worn by the Knights Hospitaller. This group of men was attached to a hospital located in Jerusalem, which evolved into a military order. Founded around 1023 by Blessed Gerard, these men provided care for injured, sick and poor pilgrims to the Holy Land. During the First Crusade, they became a military order to defend the Holy Land; this nasal helm could have been seen on them in battle. Forged from 18-gauge steel, Windlass Steelcrafts® has thoughtfully included the nasal guard in the shape of a cross; this hinged nose guard offered protection without compromising vision. This fully wearable piece features a chin strap and adjustable liner for a secure and comfortable fit. A helmet stand has been included to put on display when not in use. |
