All Steel Stiletto
Circa 1400-170 If you have ever wondered where the name comes from for stiletto shoes for women, feast your eyes on this gorgeous but deadly weapon. It would have been quite common for both men and women to wear a stiletto like a piece of jewelry so they always had protection. It is believed that they were originally used at the feast table throughout the European Renaissance, but once assassins began to appreciate just how practical and effective they were, they began to be used for protection. A weapon like this could easily be concealed and then used to thrust through even the heaviest fabrics worn in the era. Windlass Steelcrafts® has crafted our All Steel Stiletto with a triangular-shaped blade. Although hard to see in the photo, all three sides boast a deep fuller, and then they end at a keen point. Steel has been used for the short guard, pommel and grip as well as on the tip and throat of the black leather scabbard. |
