This Viking/Norman Coppergate Helmet is certainly not one you see every day. Surely, this is one someone such as Godfrid Haraldsson would have worn when he raided Frisia, sailed up the Scheldt and attacked Ghent. Our replica is superbly crafted from 18-gauge EN45 steel with cheek guards and a central nose piece. You will notice that chainmail is used to protect the back of the neck, as opposed to an extended steel plate that came later. This fully wearable helmet fits up to a 7 5/8” hat size and is ideal for re-enactments, or attractive enough to simply place on display.
