The great helm, or Barrel Helmet, became popular at the turning of the 12th century, was seen throughout the crusades and well into the 14th century. This protection was worn by heavy infantry and knights in most European armies.

Our Barrel Helm boasts crusader-inspired cut-out detail, which happens to also allow ventilation. The eyes have been thoughtfully shaped as well to provide a more intimidating and aggressive look. Our fantastic replica has been crafted from 18-gauge EN45 steel and is fully wearable for costume or reenactment, or looks fabulous put on display.
