Cloaked in unparalleled detail, the Oda Nobunaga Japanese Suit of Armor is one that your eyes will want to explore one piece at a time. There is a lot going on with this suit, each detail more thoughtful than the last. Crafted by Hanwei, the first thing you notice is vertical plates at the torso and then period elements seem to develop from the core. This fully wearable armor weighs 65 pounds. The entire piece is embellished with fantastic color, especially the neck protector which is made from colorful cord. The helmet features a mounted crest of Oda Nobunaga and the entire piece comes in a lacquered armor box.

Oda Nobunaga (1534-1582) essentially shaped the history of feudal Japan. He feuded with many daimyo (warlords), in his effort to unify the country. Before the turning of the 16th century, his unification policy finally became a reality by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, two of his successors.
