During the 14th and 15th century, the Swiss-designed two-handed pole saw its share of popularity. They always featured a thorn or hook on the back to grapple mounted combatants. These weapons were cheap to produce for even peasant soldiers yet incredibly versatile on the battlefield. Our 17th Century Swiss Halberd is one that would have been effective at gashing, stabbing and slashing. Red trim accents this two-piece pole while a multipurpose shaped axe head represents those of later and more advanced design.
